As much as I was interested in who the winners would be at this year’s Oscars Academy Awards show, I was just as (perhaps a little more) interested to see what the stars were wearing, especially their accessories.
It was so exciting to see statement jewelry on the red carpet. I'm all for and all about statement pieces, unique accessories. A simple look can create such a wow factor with even just one statement accessory.
Here are a few of my favorites:
Cate Blanchett in a modest Maison Margiela dress, classic shape added an explosion of turquoise with her Tiffany & Co. jewelry.
I love the contrast of the bright color against the black, and with the upcoming spring season, we are sure to see more turquoise around.
Another look we admired was that of Joanna Newsom, in a white dress with a little pop of turquoise through her earrings and cocktail ring.
Turquoise is one of the oldest gemstones around. It is known to be associated with prosperity, success, happiness and good fortune.

Margot Robbie showed how to wear a plunging neckline in her Saint Laurent dress and added a beautiful Van Cleef and Arpels statement necklace.
Wearing a longer necklace with heavier drop detailing is ideal with a plunging neckline or a V-neck for a more day-to-day look.

Remember, when adding a large statement piece, sometimes less is more. You don’t want to take away from the overall look by adding too much. Sometimes a simple, clean look with a wow factor such as an item of jewelry can go a long way! Putting on too many accessories can look distracting at times.
Earrings. We love large earrings. Jennifer Hudson looking sleek and stunning in her Romona Keveza ensemble, delightfully embellished with Lorraine Schwartz jewels.
The contrast of the spring-appropriate colors display a charming way to combine green and yellow. Being from a similar family of colors, this is a subtle, yet fierce way to marry the two together. We love to the simplicity of adding a large, striking pair of earrings matched with a cocktail ring.
